The Future Climate photo competition (2009) focused on the engineering solutions that are already present. Across the world there are thousands of technologies and best practices that can contribute to save our planet.
More than two hundred pictures from all over the world were sent to the competition. Pictures of solar cell electric fences, busses, bicycles, water power plants and – off course - wind turbines from Denmark.
Winner
A jury was entrusted with the difficult task of picking a winner among all these excellent pictures, and the choice fell on Mr. Jeancliclac/flickr.com

The picture symbolizes the simplicity of our engineering solutions as well as the complexity of the necessary solutions to the climate challenge we face.
4 representative pictures
Besides the winning picture, 4 other pictures were chosen to be presented
- Low energy house with solarpanel

By making advances in building envelopes, equipment, and systems integration, it may be possible to achieve up to a 70 % reduction in a building’s energy use by 2050
- Mercedes-Benz Actros Truck

Transportation must be reinvented by increasing the diversity of energy resources that supply transportation. Displacing petroleum consumption through increased system efficiency and use of lower carbon fuels are among means to this end.
- Public transporttation

As the global transportation volume increases the task of managing GHG emissions becomes more important. This requires the promotion and development of public transport.
- Wind turbines along the shore

In the power sector near term GHG reductions can be achieved mainly through substitution of high carbon power technologies with among other things more onshore and offshore wind energy.
