Data is being relied on as an objective and factual basis for problem solving. Yet, it is also understood that data is only as good as the visualization that communicates it to analysts, decision makers, and the public. But what makes a “good” visualization and how can we construct it? This talk presents some surprising insights into these questions from current visualization research.
