 Vi følger ham fra starten som forsanger i pop- og soulgruppen Jackson Five frem til den visionære kunstner, hvis kreative ambition nærede en ubarmhjertig stræben efter at blive verdens største entertainer. 

'Michael' viser både Michael Jacksons liv uden for scenen og nogle af de mest ikoniske optrædener fra hans tidlige solokarriere. Den giver os et indblik i dele af hans liv, som aldrig er set før. 

Filmen er instrueret af Antoine Fuqua, den prisvindende filmskaber bag 'Training Day', 'Olympus Has Fallen' og The Equalizer-serien, baseret på et manuskript af den tredobbelte Oscar-nominerede John Logan, der tidligere har skrevet storfilm som Gladiator, The Aviator samt Bond-filmene Skyfall og Spectre. 

Michael Jacksons familie har givet grønt lys for filmen, herunder også brug af popstjernens musikkatalog.

We follow him from his early days as the lead singer of the pop and soul group Jackson Five to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the world's greatest entertainer. 

'Michael' shows both Michael Jackson's life off stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career. It gives us a glimpse into parts of his life that have never been seen before. 

The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, the award-winning filmmaker behind 'Training Day', 'Olympus Has Fallen' and The Equalizer series, based on a screenplay by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan, who has previously written blockbusters such as Gladiator, The Aviator and the Bond films Skyfall and Spectre. 

Michael Jackson's family has given the green light for the film, including the use of the pop star's music catalog.
