First and foremost, thank you for your interest in the Audio Explorers championship. We are looking very much forward to going to New York with the lucky winners but we are also eager to see your creative and innovative solutions for the assignments we are going to give you.
The Challenge
On April 10th we will send out the challenge assignments to all groups. You will have until April 24th at 12.00 to come up with a solution. There are several ways to answer the assignment, for instance: reports, slideshows, posters, small applications, CAD drawings, muck-ups etc. – you are in fact only limited by your imagination and your ambition.
The alpha and omega in this competition is your good and professionally sound ideas. In other words, we do not expect you to invest tons of energy in the presentation itself, for example in a mock-up. The main thing is that you describe your ideas and thoughts thoroughly.

Sign-up & guidelines
You have to sign up in a group (2-4 participants per group) and come up with a team name e.g. “Engineering Hustlers”. Deadline for sign up is April 9th 2023.
Important: All members have to sign up individually and use the same team name in the system. The system will also ask you for an application and CV but off course you don’t have to upload this. Just upload two empty word docs.
What do the winners do in New York?
The winning teams will be equipped with a GPS and a small Sound Activity Meter (SAM) to examine sound levels in the world’s quintessential urban environment.
A packed schedule awaits the winners. You will be fascinated by technical museums, get to visit hi-tech companies and meet leading researchers within sound to hear about their projects. Our own engineers will also give daily lessons on the R&D we do at Oticon.
