Oplæg af professor Troels Skrydstrup fra Nanoscience center, Aarhus Universitet omhandler problemet med plastaffald og hvordan det kan nedbrydes til enkelte bestanddele til genbrug eller hvordan det kan omdannes til nye materialer til at opfange CO2.

Plastik bliver i et stor omfang ikke genbrugt og det er problamatisk for miljøet. Derfor er der behov for et cirkulært brug af plastik og plastikindholdene materialer for at spare på ressourcer og minimere plastikaffald i miljøet. 

I dette oplæg, afholdt af professor Troels Skrydstrup, vil han komme ind på de overordnede problemer med affaldsplast. Eksempler som diskuteres er polyurethan og epoxykompositter som eksisterer i vindmøllevinger. 

Der vil snakkes om hans forskning i brug af metalkatalysatore til adskillelse af hærdplast til enkelte kemikalier .

Efterfølgende vil der fortælles om, hvordan nogle typer af plastaffald kan omdannes til CO2-fangende materialer.

The vast amount of end-of-use plastic and plastic containing materials released into nature has resulted in a major environmental crisis affecting the ecosystem across the globe. Therefore, there is a need for a circular use of plastics to conserve resources and minimize plastic waste

In the presentation hosted by professor Troels Skrydstrup, the issue with plastic waste will be discussed. Example included will include polyurethane and epoxy composites found within turbine blades.

He wil talk about his research on the usage of metal catalysts for seperation of cured plastics into individuel chemicals. Furthermore, the presentation will cover how certain types of plastic waste can be turned into new material with CO2-capturing properties.
