What is the One Hub? Note: The event is held in English

The purpose of The OneHub is to connect and position the Öresund region as a leading European hub for nuclear energy. A place where technology, academia, business, the new emerging industry and society work together and shape a sustainable energy future. There is already growing interest from all these parties to meet and connect in order to create new job opportunities and together build and direct the needed competences to fill any future vacancies.

Nuclear energy is now being promoted by the Swedish government, and several new building projects are planned in Sweden, and new projects can even be anticipated, going forward. New nuclear developments will include the need for skilled persons to build and run these facilities.

Also, in Denmark, two new nuclear development companies are creating opportunities for academia and research projects, and the Danish Government has just allocated means to support Nuclear Power Research going forward.

Therefore, it would make sense to connect the two countries and find common areas of opportunities.

IDA Nuclear is facilitating this next meeting in the network, which meets in different locations in both Denmark and Sweden, to support cooperation and information exchange within the growing nuclear field in our two countries.

Key objectives of the One Hub

Creating new qualified job opportunities

Attracting young as well as experienced talents, and international experts in the field and providing growth opportunities in a future-oriented industry

Attracting work force and enabling contacts across multiple key disciplines, such as project management, licensing, nuclear safety, reactor physics, neutron modelling, material and chemistry, radiation measurements, health physics, plant-, construction and power engineering, specialists in fire safety and waste handling, fuel and waste cycle, recycling, etc.

Attracting foreign and local investments and venture capital to the Øresund region

Increasing awareness of the companies, academia, organizations, and municipalities etc. working with nuclear technology on both sides of the strait

Serving as a knowledge resource network for policy makers and decision-makers

Enhancing public understanding and providing younger generations with insights into nuclear technology, and creating knowledge transfers between the older and a new generation of nuclear specialists.

The creators of the One Hub are convinced that this initiative can not only strengthen the Øresund Region's role as a leading region in new nuclear power technology, but also contribute to a stable, self-sufficient and competitive energy system for the entire Nordic Region.
