When companies aim to contribute to the green transition, they are often confronted with challenging choices regarding materials. This is especially true when it comes to the selection of plastic materials. Many engage in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Mass Balance, and navigating this field can be quite complex. It's a topic that frequently arises when we inquire about what interests and challenges companies in the context of the green transition and an increased focus on choosing the right materials. Selecting the appropriate method can be difficult, and there are valid arguments for various approaches to address these challenges. In a collaboration between IDA Polymer and IDA Environment, we have organized a joint meeting where we will begin by gaining insights into both LCA and Mass Balance principles. Subsequently, we will use examples from companies to initiate a discussion about challenges and opportunities in a concluding panel debate.

Når virksomheder skal bidrage til den grønne omstilling udfordres de ofte af vanskelige valg af materialer. Dette gælder ikke mindst for valget af plastmaterialer. Her er der mange der arbejder med Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) og Mass balance og det er ofte et vanskeligt felt at bevæge sig i. Det er et emne der ofte kommer op, når vi spørger virksomheder hvad der interesserer dem og hvad der udfordrer dem i forbindelse med den grønne omstilling og et øget fokus på at vælge de rigtige materialer. Det kan være svært at vælge den rigtige metode og der er gode argumenter for flere måder at betragte udfordringerne på. Vi har her i samarbejde mellem IDA Polymer og IDA Miljø arrangeret et fællesmøde, hvor vi starter med at få et indblik i både LCA og Mass balance principper og derefter vil vi bruge virksomhedseksempler til at åbne op for en diskussion af udfordringer og muligheder i en afsluttende paneldebat.
