Talking Supply Chain Resilience

In an increasingly interconnected and unpredictable world, supply chains face constant disruption—from geopolitical tensions and natural disasters to supplier failures and market volatility. For companies of all sizes, building resilient supply chains is no longer just a competitive advantage; it is a necessity.
But what does supply chain resilience actually mean in practice? And how can organizations begin to strengthen their supply chains to better anticipate, absorb, and recover from disruptions?
At Talking Supply Chain Resilience, hosted by IDA Supply Chain, we explore these questions through two expert perspectives on how companies can approach resilience in today’s complex supply networks. The event will provide both conceptual insights and practical tools that can help organizations better understand their vulnerabilities and strengthen their supply chains.
The event is structured in two parts, each offering a different angle on how resilience can be developed and implemented in practice.

Presentation 1: Understanding and Approaching Supply Chain Resilience

Speaker: Martin Rode, Senior Consultant, NIRAS

Martin Rode will introduce the concept of Supply Chain Resilience and explain why it has become a critical capability for modern organizations. Drawing on many years of hands-on experience as a practitioner and observer of global supply chains, Martin will share practical insights on identifying risks and building more resilient supply chains. The session provides an overview of key concepts, common challenges, and concrete starting points for embedding resilience into supply chain management and decision-making.

Originally trained as an Army Officer, Martin has held senior roles including Logistics and Operations Manager and Regional Supply Chain Director across industries such as Distribution, Fuel, Service, and Automotive.

Presentation 2: Tools and Data for Strengthening Supply Chain Resilience

Speaker: Christian Elkjaer, Senior Manager, Data Advisory Services, Dun & Bradstreet Nordics

Christian Elkjaer advises Nordic companies on how to strategically use data, analytics, and AI to manage risk, navigate regulatory complexity, and drive business value. With deep expertise in third-party risk, supply chains, sanctions, and emerging EU regulations, Christian helps organizations make better, more resilient decisions in an increasingly volatile global environment.

In his presentation, Christian will explore how organizations can use data and risk intelligence to strengthen resilience across their supply networks. Drawing on experience from Dun & Bradstreet, he will highlight how companies monitor supplier risk, identify vulnerabilities, and take proactive steps to mitigate disruptions. The session will also show how data-driven approaches and structured risk management tools support more informed decision-making and stronger supply chains.
