THE ART OF COMMUNICATING

Communication is what we do as human beings. It is how we relate to each other. This hands-on workshop treats communication as a skill you can engineer rather than a personality trait you either have or don't.

Communicate with clarity and confidence

Clear communication is a skill you can learn. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn practical techniques to communicate with confidence, structure your message clearly, and have more productive conversations at work.

Over three practical hours, you'll work with the building blocks of effective communication. You'll learn how to prepare so nerves work for you rather than against you, how to structure a message people actually follow, how to listen and ask questions that encourage others to open up, and how empathy and body language strengthen communication without requiring you to pretend to be someone you're not.

We'll start with a simple communication model: sender, message, receiver, feedback, and the one factor that quietly distorts every conversation: noise. From there, we'll explore four practical principles that improve every interaction: clarity, concision, curiosity, and candor. We'll also discuss how introverts can communicate effectively by building on their natural strengths.

You'll leave with practical frameworks, opportunities to practise throughout the workshop, and concrete habits you can apply in your very next meeting.

What you'll take away

  • A practical model of how communication works: sender, message, receiver, feedback, and how to identify and reduce the "noise" that distorts your message.
  • A simple structure for getting your point across clearly, without burying your message in unnecessary context.
  • Practical ways to prepare for high-stakes conversations so nervousness becomes an advantage rather than a barrier.
  • Listening and open-questioning techniques that help others open up and provide the information you actually need.
  • An understanding of how body language and empathy influence every conversation, and how to use them authentically.
  • A practical framework built around the four C's: clarity, concision, curiosity, and candor, applicable to conversations, emails, and presentations.
  • Strategies for making the most of your strengths as an introvert in meetings, networking, and presentations.
  • One concrete habit you can put into practice in your very next meeting.

Expect to participate actively throughout the session. This is a workshop not a lecture.

Practical: There will be a sandwich and soda for you to enjoy. The session is held in English.
