The trade union for IT professionals in Denmark
Have you studied computer science, software development or work with IT at a high level? Then IDA is the trade union for you.
We share a passion for creating intelligent solutions with technology, IT and scientific insight. That's why IDA is more than a trade union for many members. It is a professional community with a focus on learning and knowledge sharing.
In IDA, you can become a member of more than 70 professional communities, many of which work with IT and innovation. For example, you can meet like-minded people in IDA IT, IDA Embedded or IDA Future Technology.
The active members of the communities organise more than 2,000 cultural, social and professional events across Denmark.
Here you don't just satisfy your professional curiosity. You also get a network that can help you solve your next assignment or find your next job.
Many people also use IDA's communities for social events. They go to the theatre together, visit microbreweries or go for walks in their local area.
We work for a balanced working life
IDA's members often have the same conditions in the labour market across disciplines.
They are in demand by employers, whether they work in technology, IT or science. Therefore, they don't have to worry about unemployment to the same extent as other professional groups. On the other hand, they struggle with blurred boundaries between work and leisure.
They are expected to take on a lot of responsibility, work long hours and sometimes be available virtually 24 hours a day.
This can lead to burnout and stress if there isn't good leadership and a proper framework. That's why one of IDA's most important tasks as a trade union is to focus on stress as a social problem so that it can be prevented more effectively.
A good business for you
With more than 170,000 members, IDA is Denmark's largest trade union for technology, IT and natural sciences.
This means that we can secure good agreements for our members. In IDA you get, among other things:
- Discounts on shopping, travelling and continuing education
- Good offers that make your salary stretch further.
In fact, most members find that their membership fee is paid back simply because they save money on insurance.
In addition, you get a tax deduction of up to DKK 6,000 per year when you're a member of a trade union. It's up to you whether you want the deduction once a year or spread out over all months. IDA takes care of reporting paid membership fees to Skat every year.
You get a strong safety net
When you work in IT, you rarely have to worry about unemployment in the same way as other professions. But it's important that you have a safety net in the form of a trade union if you become ill, stressed or have a conflict with your employer.
If this happens, you can get quick advice from IDA's experienced legal advisors and attorneys. You can also use them to review your contract before you sign it to avoid unpleasant surprises.
If your employment terms are good but your motivation is low, you can also talk to IDA's career counsellors.
They have years of experience in the labour market for employees specialising in IT. They can help you structure your working life or create a career plan to help you pursue goals that are motivating and fulfilling in the long run.
