How do we turn a forecast into decisions and actions?
In this after-work event, Henrik Knak, Partner, and Simon Vingolf Larsen, Senior Consultant, from Unify Partners will explain how to succeed with supply planning.
We focus on the tactical supply planning side of the S&OP process and how it connects to the operational level. Also, we will touch upon what it takes to move to IBP level performance.
The starting point is the forecast, which we assume has already been made. (Check out the Demand Planning event, if you want to learn more about forecasting).
We will explore how companies can balance demand with capacity, materials, inventory and network constraints, and how forecast uncertainty, planning constraints and competing business priorities can be translated into concrete supply chain decisions.
You will receive a practical introduction to supply planning, capacity planning, inventory planning and network planning, as well as scenario planning, together with inspiration on effective processes, roles, KPIs and decision-making principles.
We will also demonstrate how S&OP is connected to S&OE and conclude with an overview of different planning technology categories, along with the key questions companies should ask before selecting a new planning solution and implementation partner.
The event combines fundamental principles, practical models, key do’s and don’ts, and a Unify Partners case study, ensuring valuable takeaways for both newcomers and experienced supply chain professionals.
During this evening, we will focus on these questions:
- Which supply decisions a forecast should trigger
- How to balance capacity, materials, inventory, sourcing and network constraints
- How to manage uncertainty and constraints
- How to ensure successful product introductions, product phase-outs and financial optimisation
- How decisions are anchored within the S&OP process
- How plans survive contact with reality through S&OE
- When technology creates genuine business value
After the event, participants will be able to:
- Understand the maturity differences between S&OP and IBP
- Explain the differences between supply planning, capacity planning, inventory planning and network planning
- Translate a forecast into concrete supply requirements, Sales & Marketing push-back and business decisions
- Understand the difference between unconstrained and constrained planning
- Identify the most important capacity, material and network constraints
- Develop relevant scenarios and evaluate trade-offs between service, promotions, inventory, capacity, cost, profit and risk
- Understand which decisions belong in S&OP and which should be managed through S&OE
- Assess whether their organisation needs stronger capabilities, better processes, better data or a new planning solution
- Define the right requirements for ERP, MRP, APS and integrated planning solutions
Join us to learn what works in demand planning.
A sandwich will be served in the break.
The event is the second in a Supply Chain Planning Academy series under development.
