Accessibility statement for IDA
At IDA, we continuously work to ensure that our website and all the information it contains are accessible to everyone in accordance with digital accessibility requirements and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Levels A and AA.
This accessibility statement applies to:
- ida.dk, both public and member-only sections
- idaforsikring.dk
- studerende.ida.dk
and all associated subdomains, collectively referred to as IDA. It describes the current level of accessibility of IDA’s websites as well as the accessibility issues we are currently aware of.
This statement is updated regularly as improvements are made.
Compliance status
The website is currently partially compliant with the requirements of the Accessibility Directive.
So far, we have made the following improvements:
- Improved compatibility with screen readers and support for zooming in up to 200%
- Contrast analysis, with improvements incorporated into all future website updates
- An accessibility-compliant design guide for all future component design
- Alt text required for images
As part of this work, we have also identified the following areas where improvements have not yet been made:
Navigation
Some parts of the website cannot be adequately navigated using just a keyboard. For example, there is currently no option to skip directly to the main content of a page. There may also be issues with focus and navigation order when navigating without a mouse.
We are continuously working to address these issues.
Forms
There are forms in several places on the website that are not yet fully accessible.
This may mean, for example, that form fields, instructions and error messages are not always presented in a way that makes the forms accessible to all users, including users of assistive technologies.
We are working to identify and address these issues.
Embedded content
Accessibility issues have been identified both in components used to embed content and in some of the embedded content itself. These include some embedded elements without accessible labels and missing or inadequate text alternatives for some video and audio content.
We are currently assessing these issues and working to improve accessibility.
Dialog boxes and overlays
Some dialog boxes and elements displayed on top of other content are not fully accessible. We have identified accessibility issues but have not yet determined their full extent.
We are working to improve their accessibility.
Technical components and WAI-ARIA markup
Some components have technical accessibility issues where WAI-ARIA states or properties are not always used correctly in relation to an element’s role. This may mean that assistive technologies such as screen readers do not correctly communicate the component’s function, state or changes to the user.
We are currently assessing the extent of these issues.
Documents
Some documents on the website are not yet fully accessible. This includes PDF, Excel and Word documents, which are not always marked up in a way that allows them to be used with assistive technologies.
We are currently identifying and reviewing these documents and continuously working to improve their accessibility.
Student website – studerende.ida.dk
We have identified accessibility issues but have not yet determined their full extent. The student website is scheduled to be updated with a more accessible structure in 2027.
Links
The purpose of some links is not sufficiently clear from the link text or the context in which the link appears. This issue occurs in a small number of components.
We are reviewing these components and making ongoing improvements.
What do these known accessibility issues mean in practice?
They may mean that certain features or content do not yet work optimally with, for example, screen readers, keyboard navigation or visual assistive technologies.
We prioritise ongoing improvements using a risk-based approach and based on accessibility issues reported by our members and users.
How does IDA work with web accessibility?
- Internal manual reviews of content on ida.dk
- Technical testing using browser plugins and monitoring tools
Accessibility has been assessed through internal manual reviews and technical testing using automated tools.
The most recent assessment was carried out in September 2026.
What is IDA doing to improve web accessibility?
- We will continue to review and update existing content to make it accessible to everyone.
- We are developing internal guidelines for developers and content producers to ensure that new solutions, apps and content meet accessibility requirements from the outset.
- We are incorporating accessibility as a standard part of our development and quality assurance processes.
- We prioritise updates to existing content on an ongoing basis, starting with content that has the greatest impact on users.
- We will conduct an annual review of the website’s accessibility and add the status of each success criterion to the accessibility statement.
