Become a mentor - a personal sparring partner

As a mentor, you will have ample opportunity to develop your leadership and communication skills as you share your experiences with another IDA member.

Make a difference as a mentor

You can make a huge difference as a mentor. By sharing the paths, shortcuts and detours you have taken during your career, you help the mentee turn possible doubts into clarity.

At the same time, you gain new learning, new insights and new perspectives on your own working life and expertise. You will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and improve your communication skills by sharing your own experiences in a constructive way.

What do we expect from you as a mentor?

  • You are good at listening and see opportunities rather than limitations.
  • You ask challenging and open-ended questions.
  • You are connected to the labour market.
  • You have at least 5 years of job experience as a mentor for mentees in employment.
  • After the match, you are invited to the mandatory IDA Mentor Kick-off.
  • You are offered an annual IDA Mentor Master Class.

We will, of course, prepare you well to be a mentor. IDA offers a course focusing on different mentor roles to ensure the optimal outcome of the mentoring process.
