Mentor - how to get a mentor

Get a mentor - your personal sparring partner

Perhaps you are new to the labour market and need guidance to help you settle in, or maybe you're about to become a manager for the first time and need a confidential space to discuss the process.

What can you expect to gain as a mentee - and what do we expect from you?

  • Gain a confidential space where sensitive topics can be discussed.
  • Better opportunities to set goals for your career development.
  • New insights from an experienced person with a professional understanding of your industry.
  • You are employed and have less than 2 years of job experience for participation in a 6-month IDA Mentor program.
  • You are employed and have more than 2 years of job experience for participation in a 9-month IDA Mentor program.
  • Payment is binding once mentor has accepted the match.
  • After the match, you are invited to the mandatory IDA Mentor Kick-off

IDA Mentor Program Roadmap - the mentoring process – from registration to the first meeting.

Step 1: Registration

Registration period:

  • Spring: January 5 – January 31
  • Fall: August 1 – August 31
  • REMEMBER: Complete your profile thoroughly.

Step 2: Matching and binding registration

Matching takes place:

  • Spring: February
  • Fall: September 

Mentor accepts or declines match no later than one week before Mentor Kick-Off course
IDA matches based on structured data, focusing on quality, needs, and experience.
IDA cannot guarantee that all wishes are met. If matching is not possible, we will try in the next round.Payment becomes binding once the mentor accepts, as resources are allocated at that point.

Step 3: Kick-Off & Mentor Master Class

Mandatory Kick-Off course for all mentees and mentors:

  • Aarhus & Copenhagen: February / September, 17:00–20:00
  • Mentor Master Class (mentors only): May
  • Invoice is sent to mentee right after Kick-Off course.
  • Travel and parking reimbursement is possible for mentors (for kick-off and mentor master class, not meetings with mentee).

Step 5: Mentorship Process

  • Starts after Kick-Off and lasts 6 or 9 months. Focus on professional and personal development.

  • 6-month program for students
  • 6-month program for early career, under 2 years.
  • 9-month program for experienced professionals, over 2 years.
  • IDA cannot guarantee chemistry, commitment, availability, or outcomes
  • Binding payment after mentor accepts the match

  • DKK 3.795(private payment)
  • DKK 5.295 (company payment)

6 month programme:

  • DKK 1.295 (private payment)
  • DKK 2.295 (company payment)
