Insights from Real-World AI Implementation for Antimicrobial Stewardship

Antibiotic resistance is a critical global challenge, requiring optimized therapies and adherence to clinical guidelines. Denmark's emergency departments face increasing complexities, making real-time AI solutions vital for effective decision support. Our system, TREAT-Essential, demonstrated significant clinical improvements during a pilot at Regionshospital Nordjylland, including reduced use of high-impact antibiotics and better adherence to guidelines. The pilot also highlighted the importance of clinician engagement, workflow integration, and continuous feedback for successful adoption. This presentation explores our journey in bridging AI innovation with daily clinical practice to enhance patient outcomes.
