AI for Innovation: Lessons from the Classroom to Industry

How can we practice innovation in a way that feels real—and not just theoretical? In this brief session, I’ll share insights from my PhD journey, where over 1,000 engineering students tackled 100+ real industry challenges using idea management tools. We tested how far AI can go in supporting radical innovation and where human creativity still needs to lead. Through different models, we explored ways to further build future-proof innovation skills. Bio: Serena Leka is nearing the end of the PhD journey at Aarhus University, but her passion lies in building bridges between people, ideas, and impact. With roots in both academia and the startup world, her experience challenges traditional boundaries and opens space for new ways of thinking and taking action.
