Use IDA's social worker

As an IDA member, you can get support from IDA’s social worker in cases involving statutory sick pay, flexible jobs, early retirement pension, senior pension, and disability compensation schemes.

Are you off work due to a long-term illness such as concussion, cancer, stress, or another serious health condition? And do you need help with statutory sick pay?

Is your ability to work reduced due to physical or cognitive challenges, and do you need guidance on flexible jobs, early retirement pension, or senior pension?

Or do you need assistive aids such as specialist computer software, ergonomic equipment, or personal assistance at work?

If so, IDA’s social worker can help you navigate the public system, including the local council, caseworkers, doctors, job centres, and assessment programmes.

IDA’s social worker is familiar with social welfare legislation and can advise you on your rights as well as provide guidance and sparring in social welfare cases.

What Can IDA’s Social Worker Help With?

IDA’s social worker can advise you on, among other things:

  • Sick Pay: What rules apply? Are you entitled to an extension of sick pay (sygedagpenge)? And what happens when your entitlement ends?
  • Assistive Aids: What aids are you entitled to if your ability to work is limited, and how can you exercise this right?
  • Flexible Jobs: How can you obtain a flexible job if you cannot continue in your regular role due to reduced work capacity? Can you get a retention-based flexible job? How do municipal processes and assessments work?
  • Early Retirement Pension: What are the rules, and what is the process for obtaining early retirement?
  • Senior Pension: Are you eligible for senior pension, and how can you get approved?
  • Appeals: As an IDA member, you can get assistance in appeals relating to statutory sick pay, assistive aids, flexible jobs, early retirement pension, and senior pension.
