Get a free membership for a year if you are a refugee
If you have refugee status, you can get a free 1-year membership to IDA, Denmark's largest trade union for persons with an education or career in science, technology and engineering. With a membership, you will get full access to our members' services, including assistance in CVs and applications, contract checks, guidance in your job search, cheap insurances, and much more.
Who can get a free membership?
IDA's offer of a free 1-year membership applies to persons who:
- Have refugee status
- Have arrived in Denmark after 1 January 2022
Why should I join a trade union in Denmark?
When you arrive in Denmark as a highly skilled worker, a trade union membership can provide you with assistance finding a job on secure terms. In IDA, we help members with their applications and read through employment contracts, and our salary statistics offer valuable insight into which salary you can expect in your field.

Apply for membership as a refugee
If you are eligible for IDA-membership according to the criteria listed above, you can apply for a free membership by writing our members' service department on email ida@ida.dk.
Please let us know that you wish to apply for a free refugee membership and include your name, contact data, educational background, that you meet the requirements for free membership and, if relevant, your place of work.
STEM Jobs for Ukrainians
IDA supports the STEM Jobs for Ukrainians initiative, the purpose of which is to introduce Ukrainian refugees with backgrounds in tech, science and engineering to possible employment opportunities in Denmark. You can create a profile and become matched with prospective employers if your profile matches one of their open positions.
