This presentation showcases three student projects developed in close collaboration with local industry partners, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can support engineering automation in practical, real-world settings.
The projects address three different application areas: AI-assisted generation of structured test specifications from requirements, extraction of engineering data from PDF documentation, and automation of embedded user-panel testing through computer vision and AI-supported interpretation of test cases.
Across all three projects, AI serves as a decision-support tool within human-in-the-loop workflows, where validation, traceability, and robustness remain central requirements. The session will present key insights, challenges, and lessons learned from applying AI technologies in engineering environments and will include demonstrations of selected project outcomes.
Speakers and Projects
Adriana Jaworska and Aleksandra Maria Kril are Bachelor's students in Software Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark. In collaboration with Danfoss Power Solutions, they have investigated the use of AI to generate structured test specifications directly from system requirements.
Svens Gotvoni is a Bachelor's student in Software Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark. His project, carried out with Danfoss Climate Solutions, focuses on AI-supported extraction and structuring of engineering data from PDF documentation.
Daniel Ndangsa Nguh is a Master's student in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark. In collaboration with BITZER Electronics, he has developed a solution for automating embedded user-panel testing using computer vision and AI-assisted interpretation of test procedures.
The presentation offers a practical perspective on how AI can be integrated into engineering processes to improve efficiency while maintaining the reliability and quality standards required in industrial applications.
