As the maritime industry accelerates its decarbonization efforts, onboard carbon capture (OCC) is emerging as a promising pathway for reducing CO₂ emissions from existing and future vessels. But capturing CO₂ onboard is only part of the solution.

This IDA Maritime and DSNAME event will explore the entire carbon capture value chain—from the technologies installed onboard merchant vessels to the port infrastructure and downstream logistics required to ensure that captured carbon reaches its final destination.
The evening will provide both technical insights and practical perspectives from companies actively developing and deploying solutions across the maritime carbon capture ecosystem.
Program:- 17:30 - 17:35 Introduction and welcome by Mikkel Navarro Hansen, DSNAME
- 17:35 - 18:30 ERMA FIRST, Dimitris Koutsaftis, Technical Product Manager, CCUS Presentation of onboard carbon capture technology, operational experience, system integration, and the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing OCC on merchant vessels. Wärtsilä (Moss) Insights into the development of carbon capture solutions for shipping, including technology readiness, performance, operational considerations, and the role of OCC in meeting future emission reduction requirements.
- 18:30– 19:00 Networking - Sandwich & refreshments
- 19:00 – 19:45 The CO₂ Value Chain – From Ship to Storage Port of Esbjerg New CO₂ Terminal: How ports can support the emerging carbon capture ecosystem through CO₂ handling facilities, logistics solutions, and infrastructure development.

The event is in collaboration with Danish Society for Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
