Know Your Worth

This workshop is a cooperation between The Danish Society of Engineers (IDA), Connected Women in AI (CWAI) and the Tuborg Foundation. 

Are you ready to take control of your career and advocate for your true value? “Know Your Worth” is a hands-on workshop designed for young women at the start of their studies or careers in AI and technology-driven fields. This session will equip you with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to navigate salary negotiations and career advancement – empowering you to overcome bias and ask for what you deserve.

What to Expect

This two-hour workshop begins with a dynamic presentation by negotiation expert Ning Wilstrup Wang, who will introduce the fundamentals of negotiation tactics. You’ll gain insights into how to prepare for negotiations, communicate your value, and approach professional conversations with clarity and confidence. The session then transitions to a practical, interactive workshop led by Inese Podgaiska. Here, you’ll dive into the specifics of salary negotiation, with a special focus on recognizing and countering gender bias. Through hands-on exercises and real-life scenarios, you will learn how to:

• Negotiate your salary and benefits: Understand the most common challenges and biases women face and develop strategies to overcome them.
• Build confidence in professional asks: Practice techniques for making requests assertively and professionally, whether for a raise, promotion, or new opportunity.
• Research and benchmark your worth: Learn how to gather market data, benchmark your role, and present a compelling case for your compensation.
• Navigate career moves: Get honest advice on how to approach raises, promotions, and transitions, with practical tips from experienced professionals.

This workshop is part of the CWAI NextGen Women in AI series, which aims to empower young women in AI to amplify their voices, recognize their value, and develop the confidence to influence decisions and shape their careers. The session is open to students and early- career professionals in AI-related fields.

• Date & Time: February 5th 16:00–18:00 with a sandwich and networking after (from 18:00-20:00).
• Format: In-person, interactive workshop (30 participants)
• Target group: Students and early-career women  
• Fee: Free to participate but there is a DKK 250 no-show fee. So only sign up if you mean it.
