Tech Talks on Tap is the evening where young people share big ideas over cold beers. Three short talks of 15–20 minutes – no slides, just passion, visuals, and curiosity.
Expect everything from AI and green tech to robots and space travel in a relaxed setting with sandwiches, draft beer, and plenty of laughs. Talks by people under 35 – created for people under 35. Come get inspired, network, and vote for the evening’s winning talk.
Here’s what you can expect to learn about:
What Even Is a Byte?
We are all taught that a byte is 8 bits… but is that actually always true? In this talk, some of our most basic technological assumptions are challenged. You get an easy-to-understand tour through the history, the exceptions, and why it all matters—even if you don’t program at all.
Can We Trust Food Labels? – Detecting Food Adulteration with NIR
Is the content of food always what the label says it is? Not necessarily. Here you gain insight into how food fraud can happen, and why traditional analyses do not always suffice. In contrast, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) can be a powerful tool for detecting irregularities. You are introduced to the technology, its advantages, and how it is used to ensure better food quality.
