Quantum Key Distribution: Is the Quantum Channel Enough?

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) promises a new level of security by using quantum mechanics to establish cryptographic keys. But is it as simple as adding these devices to our infrastracture to make it secure?

This talk explores that question through the ETSI QKD 014 architecture, which integrates quantum key distribution with classical communication systems.

Drawing on my MSc thesis conducted in collaboration with GlobalConnect, I will share my findings and observations on this topic, and discuss what should be kept in mind when deploying such systems in the real world.
