Megawatt Charging for battery electric trucks is seen as key enabler for full fleet electrification in particular for long-haul road freight. The Talk will analyse the need and current status for megawatt truck charging in Europe and give an outlook of current and likely future developments of it.
Bio: Prof. Dr. Patrick Plötz is Coordinator of Business Unit Energy Economics at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI. He leads or works in many national, European, and International projects on the electrification of transport, energy system analysis, and CO2 mitigation policies. He leads the HoLa project constructing the first public MCS chargers in Germany and is adjunct professor for Sustainable Energy and Transport at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg (Sweden).
