COURSE FOR UNION REPRESENTATIVES
Being an IDA Union Representative
Get ready for your role as a union representative in the private sector. This course gives you a clear overview of the Danish labour market model, your rights and responsibilities, employment law, salary negotiations, and the companion role.
What can you expect from the course
This course is designed for union representatives in the private sector to give a solid legal and practical foundation for the role. The course introduces the Danish labour market model and the agreement system, and clarifies your role as the link between colleagues, management, and IDA.
You will gain insight into your rights and mandate as a union representative, including what applies in relation to local agreements, employment terms, working hours, holiday, parental leave, sickness, warnings, and dismissals. The course also provides a thorough introduction to the companion role before, during, and after difficult meetings.
In addition, you will learn about salary formation in Denmark, local salary negotiations, and IDA’s salary tools. The course is modular and can be used both as an introduction and as a reference when you need support in specific situations.
