You will learn key concepts such as pre-/post-training, knowledge cutoff, hallucinations, and prompting – and you will get concrete tools to write better prompts, assess risks, and choose appropriately between models, sources, and tools.

After the course, you will be able to:

  1. explain that language models generate text as probability-based autocomplete
  2. describe the difference between pre-training, post-training, and inference
  3. explain knowledge cutoff and its implications for up-to-date information
  4. identify risk situations for hallucinations and choose appropriate strategies (sources/tools/verification)
