Internationals working in Denmark
Thriving as an international professional in Denmark
As an international professional in Denmark, language and culture can influence both your career and daily work life. IDA’s peer group offers a space to share experiences and gain insights from other international IDA members. With similar educational backgrounds, participants understand each other’s professional challenges and career paths. The facilitated meetings provide opportunities for feedback, networking, and mutual support.
Topics range from career development and workplace relations to navigating the Danish labour market.
Peer group meetings are confidential and facilitated
The peer group provides a confidential space where you can follow each other’s development and share insights and experiences. Over time, you will get to know your fellow group members well, and you will be able to give each other tailored advice and feedback.
The group’s facilitators introduce relevant exercises and tools that provide valuable insights into your interests, skills, strengths, and areas for development.

You choose the themes
The peer group takes a point of departure in cases from your working lives and careers. We use mentoring, discussions, case work, and sometimes bring in external experts who can share new perspectives and tools.
The meetings focus on themes that are relevant to you. You are encouraged to bring your own ideas for topics, cases, or presentations to spark meaningful conversations at the meetings.
The group is a confidential and safe space where you can talk openly about your current challenges with like-minded people who are not a part of your day-to-day workplace.
Examples of topics you can discuss in the group
- Language barriers and intercultural (mis)communication
- Navigating the corporate structure of a foreign culture
- Career mobility and development
- Networking outside your workplace
- The practicalities of settling in Denmark
- Managing big life changes
