Mitigating Risk in Technology Development for Weakly defined Value Chains in the Green Transition

The green transition has a significant potential and demand for development and scaling of new and existing technology but do also have significant and complex risks. Technology development by itself implies several risks and pitfalls but targeting the green transition carry additional risks that must be mitigated. Value chains in the green transition such as Power-to-X and CCUS are predominately immature and weakly defined with no clear definition of the overall framework and how the technology ecosystem should interact. This constitutes huge risk for technology developers. The talk will give examples of who this risk can be mitigated though collaborative approaches within the value chain between industry, knowledge institutions and authorities building a framework of guidelines and standards.
