Death by PowerPoint: Building Presentations with AI Agents
Future slidedecks won't be built in PowerPoint or Copilot, instead an AI agent will build them, and stick to your rules. Come learn how to build your next professional presentation the same way. No coding skills required.

Most "AI for PowerPoint" tools automate the part of presenting that was never the problem. This talk takes the opposite route: skip the slide software entirely and let a coding agent write the slidedeck directly in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, the most capable visual medium most of us already have installed, and one that runs anywhere, open-source, without a licence, a plugin, or a file conversion.
This session is a working tour of the open-source template behind six AILANG talks given at IDA Driving AI in May,
Eighteen decks, around 26,000 lines of HTML, no build step, no slide framework. It covers what it actually takes to make an AI a useful design collaborator: a design system written in plain language, a reusable template, and an automated linter that stops the agent from inventing its own layout rules halfway through. It also covers what the resulting deck can do that a slide file cannot:
Render live data, interactive visualisations, running code, and real demos, and still open in a browser five years from now.
Attendees will understand:
• Why generating the final medium beats generating a file format. When slides are plain text instead of a binary file, both a human and an AI can read them, write them, review them, and track changes line by line.
• How to give a coding agent enough structure to design well: a written design system, a reusable template, and automated checks that hold the agent to both, so the tenth deck still matches the first.
• What HTML puts on a screen that slide software cannot: live data, interactive visualisation, real code, working demos, and animation that serves the argument rather than decorating it.
• How one file serves three audiences: the room, the person who opens the link cold six weeks later with no narration, and the organiser who asks for a PDF.
Target Group:
Anyone who presents and is comfortable reading a little code: software developers, data scientists and engineers, technical leads and architects, developer advocates, consultants and trainers, and anyone who has sat through death by PowerPoint and suspected there had to be a better way.
No front-end expertise is assumed: The whole point is that the AI writes the HTML; the skill being taught is how to direct it.

No front-end expertise is assumed. The whole point is that the AI writes the HTML; the skill being taught is how to direct it, and build presentations that actually hold up: on-brand, up-to-date, and built-to-last.
About the presenter: Mark Edmondson is the founder of Sunholo (Holosun ApS) in Copenhagen, a forward-deployed engineer building production AI systems, and the creator of AILANG — a programming language designed to be written by AI rather than by people. He's currently working with the University of Copenhagen on an AI platform for STX physics students, and spoke on the AI Tooling, Benchmarks & Evaluation track at IDA Driving AI in May 2026. He has been avoiding PowerPoint since building his first slide decks in R more than a decade ago, on the theory that a presentation should be generated from the same source as the analysis behind it. This talk is what that habit turned into once AI could write the front-end."
