Beyond Prompting: 10 minutes of fame for the Prompt Engineer or how Prompt Engineering died over night

When LLM gained attention, everybody thought they should master the art of writing good prompts and hence Prompt Engineering became a thing. LLM’s are however just a Deep Learning (DL) model that can be treated like any other DL model. When realising this, we should divert from the somewhat alchemistic path of Prompt Engineering (optimisation theory) and instead focus on declarative methods (optimisation algorithms).
In this presentation we will dive into how Prompt Engineering has evolved and why we can benefit from an assumption-less DL model by compiling declarative language model calls into self-improving pipelines.

Bio: Mikkel Hempel and Frederik Hvalkof are founders of Capacit A/S - a Copenhagen based AI and Data Science-consulting and product development company, focusing on regulated sectors (Legal, Finance and Pharma). Mikkel and Frederik are both Software Engineering graduates from DTU with Masters in Real-time Systems and AI respectively.

Understanding the World through Video, Open Platforms, and standardized metadata

Our discussion will center on how these models contribute to a more grounded understanding of the world, enabling machines to achieve more generalized reasoning and planning by forming internal models of the world around them, much like how humans learn and adapt. The presentation will underscore the importance of understanding the world through video, as it provides a dynamic and rich source of information that “classic” data cannot offer.

Bio: Peter Damm is Director for Applied Intelligence at Milestone Systems, providing an Open Platform for actionable insights from video. Peter is appointed by Dansk Standard to help develop standards for the EU AI Act for Computer Vision, and Peter is also appointed member of the Data Ethics Council, by the Danish Parliament.
