Reduce decision pressure with generative AI
In many specialist and project-based roles, workload arises when tasks, information and decisions accumulate, and overview is lost.
This course addresses precisely that aspect of workload: the many decisions involved in complex knowledge work – and shows how generative AI can be used as a practical tool to create overview, structure and stronger foundations for decision-making.
The course is not about squeezing more into your working day, but about using AI to reduce pressure in decision-making, so you can say yes and no on a more informed basis.
For many participants, this leads to fewer mental interruptions, less fragmentation in everyday work, and a greater sense of control in everyday work - without having to work faster.
How you will work with AI during the course
During the course, you will learn how to use generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot, and Claude) as a practical tool for analysis, prioritization, and decision preparation in complex knowledge work
What you will work with during the course
- AI as a tool for overview and structure in complex tasks
- prioritization, deselection and consequence assessment with AI support
- using AI for decision support, scenarios and reflective questions
- critical assessment of AI outputs: quality, credibility and blind spots
- responsible use of generative AI in professional work
- concrete work situations from participants’ own everyday practice or cases
- understanding large language models and their application in knowledge work
The course is for you if…
… you work in a specialist, project management or other knowledge-intensive role
The course is aimed at specialists, project managers and experienced professionals in technical and knowledge-intensive environments who experience workload in a daily working life characterized by:
- many simultaneous tasks
- large amounts of information
- continuos prioritization and decision-making
The course is for you if you:
- work with many parallel tasks and prioritize under time pressure
- handle large volumes of information
- need to prioritize and make decisions in complex work situations
- want to use AI professionally as support for knowledge and decision work
The course focuses on practical use of generative AI in knowledge and decision work - not on stress treatment, programming, automation or technical implementation.
The course is relevant across industries and has been developed based on experiences and needs from IDA members.
Learning outcomes
After the course, you will be able to:
- create overview more quickly in complex tasks
- prioritize more systematically under time pressure
- make better-informed decisions
- structure complex problem statements and decision foundations more systematically
- work more consciously with prioritization, deselection and consequence assessment
- prepare decision material with scenarios, alternatives and clear arguments
- use generative AI as a sparring partner in analysis and decision work
- apply AI responsibly and critically, with an understanding of ethics and data security
Many participants experience that their work becomes more manageable because decisions are made on a clearer and more thoroughly prepared basis – and because it becomes easier to focus on what matters most in everyday work.
Benefits for your organization
Your organization gains an employee who can:
- contribute to more structured and transparent decision-making processes
- handle information, prioritization and complex tasks more effectively
- strengthen the quality of analyses and decision foundations
- use generative AI responsibly while maintaining professional judgement and critical thinking
- reduce time spent on low-value administrative work
- support more sustainable ways of working in complex knowledge environments
