Germany's dependence on Russian gas supply flipped from being an exercise in economic bridge-building to an existential threat in a matter of days. This shock, following the COVID-19 experience, added new vigor to an increasingly serious debate and legislative action aimed at increasing Germany's national resilience capabilities and its protection of critical infrastructure. This talk will illuminate some principles and highlight examples of Germany's approach to a national resilience strategy and critical infrastructure protection.
