Should we continue to accept oversizing heat pumps in AHUs?
By using a single compressor for two operating scenarios, the compressor ends up oversized in the heating scenario!
In conventional comfort ventilation, the actual airflow is considerably lower in winter than in summer. So why not size the heat pump according to the two operating scenarios?
One compressor for the high airflow in summer, and a smaller compressor for the airflow in winter. With the COOLHEAT unit, we have done exactly that.
