Process Steam from Waste Heat with Oil-Free High-Temperature Heat Pumps
Upheat develops oil-free high-temperature heat pumps that turn 40–60 °C industrial waste heat into 100–200 °C process steam. Powered by magnetic-bearing based oil-free high-speed turbo compressors, the systems offer high COP ~3–4, low maintenance, fast 1–3 year payback and simple integration. Upheat enables scalable and practical industrial decarbonization for sectors like food, beverage, pulp & paper, chemicals and pharma.
About the speaker
Olli Kuismanen is a clean-industry entrepreneur and Co-founder/Chairman of Upheat Solutions, which builds oil-free high-temperature heat pumps to turn industrial waste heat into valuable process steam. He previously helped scale Tamturbo globally, serving in partnership and business-development leadership roles at the oil-free compressed-air pioneer. Earlier in his career he led innovation and new-business initiatives at Konecranes and worked in leadership roles at Robit. He also holds a Ph.D. in ”as-a-Service” business models from Tampere University.
