Supply chain leaders have enormous sustainability impact. How can we impact the future and create sustainable growth - living up to rules and regulations and turning it into competitive advantage?

In this session we start out with understanding sustainability in a SCM context. What is scope 1,2 and 3 emisions, what other parametres than emisions do we consider and which rules and regulations are we following in EU. Next you will gain an understanding of a core question for most company top-leaders and leaders in the supply chain: How to decouple company growth from emissions? We will end the module by diving into packaging, the legislation and supply chain implications, and discuss how a correctly designed packaging will make your supply chain function better in many ways – resulting in less cost, improved flow and perfect customer experience.

Speakers:

• Henrik Knak - leading supply chain sustainability partner in Unify Partners will talk about the current trends and topics in sustainable supply chains and why sustainability is here to stay as a fly in. Henrik is examiner at DTU targeting Sustainability and Operations, and are involved in a seminar series on Decoupling in the Construction industry.

• Manon Chloé Villers – is a PhD student from DTU Construct and the Centre for Absolute Sustainability in her final year. She will reveal the findings of a PhD research project she isfinalizing, and a 2026 seminar series focusing on ‘Decoupling’, i.e. how a company succeed in building a supply chain-based business model where growing revenue results in reduced overall emissions. The initiative and findings focus on the Construction industry which represents ~37% of the total CO2 emissions in Denmark.

• Christian Pilegård – Founder of ReCykla, will introduce how packaging legislation – including producer responsibility and PPWR – impacts your business and how you as a leader can turn compliance into a competitive advantage. Drawing on a real-life case, you will gain a practical understanding of how to map your packaging footprint across the value chain, identify low-hanging fruits, and turn data into decisions that reduce both emissions and costs. ReCykla has since 2017 assisted companies in navigating packaging legislation and offers hands-on support in documenting and improving the circularity of their packaging.

• Connie Solheim - Founder of TÓKI, will share her experiences from LEGO, GN Group, Nilfisk, and now TÓKI on how packaging - when designed correctly from the very beginning - can influence far more than it is typically credited for in the supply chain. Connie has four key messages to you as a new leader:

  • Packaging is often underestimated and treated as a “last‑mile” decision
  • In practice, it is one of the few elements that affects the entire value chain
  • Many companies lose value due to a lack of holistic thinking
  • Strategically approached, packaging can both reduce costs, improve flow, and strengthen brand and customer experience.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a clear understanding of sustainable and circular supply chains, a good understanding of how you could lead the way forward within your own value chain to improve sustainability, especially regarding decoupling and packaging.
