How to use IDA's salary statistics
With IDA's salary statistics, you can get an overview of salary trends and salary conditions for private and public employees with STEM-related employment such as academy engineer, civil engineer, technical engineer, diploma engineer or export engineer and for IDA members who have a master's degree in science, IT, food science or another natural science programme.
The salary statistics provide an overview of salary levels by:
- Type of position
- Seniority
- Type of education
- Area of work
- Region
- Company size for private employees
- Ministry, region or municipality for public employees
- Earnings and fees for self-employed IDA members
Use IDA's salary statistics to get a good overview of salary development and the general salary level so that you are in a strong position for your salary negotiation - whether it is your first salary negotiation as a recent graduate, your annual salary negotiation in your current job or salary negotiation in connection with a job change.

IDA's salary statistics is updated every year
Every year, IDA collects salary statistics among privately employed members and the self-employed.
The salary statistics are based on members' salary information - both gross salary and the value of taxable benefits such as pension, free telephone, free newspaper, car scheme, home computer, extra days off and parental leave.
The salary statistics for public employees are based on the following information:
- In the state sector, information from the Danish Agency for Governmental Management is included about the members that IDA has registered with employment in the state.
- In the municipal and regional area, information from the Municipal and Regional Wage Data Office (KRL) is included about the members that IDA has registered with employment in municipalities/regions etc.
IDA's Salary Statistics are updated with the latest figures based on members' salaries for September 2024.
