Henrik Vosgerau – Senior Researcher, GEUS

Henrik Vosgerau is a Senior Researcher in the Department of Geophysics and Sedimentary Basins at GEUS. He is a sedimentologist with extensive experience in the characterisation and mapping of Danish subsurface sandstone reservoirs for geothermal energy and geological CO₂ storage.

Mette Olivarius – Senior Researcher, GEUS

Mette Olivarius is a Senior Researcher in the Department of Geoenergy and Storage at GEUS. Her research focuses on mineralogical composition, diagenetic development and reservoir properties of sedimentary rocks, with the aim of making process-based pre-drill predictions of geothermal reservoir quality.

The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) is an independent research and advisory institution under the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities.

GEUS conducts geological mapping, research, data management and advisory work related to the sustainable use and protection of the subsurface in Denmark and Greenland.

GEUS has extensive experience in assessing geothermal resources, characterising sedimentary reservoirs and investigating the geological and geochemical processes that influence the development and long-term performance of geothermal systems. GEUS also manages national geological and geophysical datasets and provides maps, models and research-based advice to public authorities and industry.

This webinar is part of a series of geothermal webinars initiated by Søren Weiss Hartmann, Drillconsult, in collaboration with IDA Energy, SPE Copenhagen Section and IADC.

The series focuses on geothermal drilling, technology, lessons learned, and opportunities to develop a more scalable geothermal industry in Denmark.

The webinars are being held in the lead-up to the IADC Geothermal Drilling Conference & Exhibition in Copenhagen in November 2026.
